Writing

I am a versatile and experienced writer, covering a range of television programmes and films from classics to new releases. My areas of particular expertise include documentary, Italian, Jewish and feminist content.

My book, Hester Street , is published by BFI/Bloomsbury. The volume is an in-depth study of the 1975 film directed by Joan Micklin Silver, and marks the 50th anniversary of the landmark film. The film is now available for screening in cinemas via Park Circus distribution and their guide includes screening notes I have written for audiences.

My reviews, interviews and opinion pieces have been published by the BFI, Sight & Sound, HuffPost UK, the Jewish Chronicle, Jewish Quarterly and Jewish Renaissance.
